Advisory for Kumbh and Republic Day Parade

Visit to Prayagraj and Train tickets for Delhi

  1. Vehicles (Volvo coaches) for Prayagraj would be leaving from different zones on 24 January between 6 and 6.30 AM. PBD participants who have opted for participating in the Kumbh Mela are hereby advised to reach either the following zones or the pick up points by 6 AMpositively. Zonal Liaison Officers (LOs) may be contacted in case of any difficulty. The details of the Zonal LOs including their mobile numbers and the details of the zones and pick up points are attached.
  1. Breakfast would be served on board the vehicles.
  1. In case any participant misses above deadline, zonal LOs may be contacted immediately. Besides, a toll free number is also given in case of any emergency or any other requirements. The toll free number is 1077 and local Tel. number is 0542 – 2508267.
  1. If anybody misses the 6.30 deadline as well as the LO, the last bus would be leaving from Cutting Memorial, in front of Hotel Taj, Varanasiby sharp 9 AM. It is the responsibility of the individual participant to reach there before 9 o'clock on his own.
  1. Train tickets from Prayagraj to Delhi would be handed over to PBD participants upon arrival at Prayagraj. Those who wish to come back to Varanasi after Kumbh, upon boarding the bus, the same may be brought to the attention of the LO.
  1. One or two buses for PBD participants are expected to return to Varanasi on 24thevening.
  1. As the PBD participants are expected to spend around six hours in Prayagraj, NObig luggage is allowed to be offloaded from Volvo buses. Hence, a small bag containing essential items including the clothing (if you wish to take the Kumbh Snan) should be carried while alighting from Volvo buses. Participants are advised to put a sticker giving details of their name and mobile numbers on their luggage tag.

Witnessing the Republic Day Parade

  1. Passes to witness the Republic Day Parade would be handed over to PBD participants upon arrival at Safdarjung Railway Station, New Delhi on 25thJanuary.
  1. Those who are not participating in the Kumbh Mela and have opted to witness the Republic Day Parade are advised to contact Shri Sanjiv Dubey to get their passes for the Republic Day Parade from Safdarjung Railway Station, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi – 110021 between 9 AM and 1 PM on 25thJanuary.   1. Transport arrangements from Safdarjung Railway Stations to major hotels and different pick up points have been made by the Government of India. Participants are expected to make their own arrangements for sightseeing and stay in Delhi.
